Artist Talks

We introduce our artist to the public with a scheduled evening slide show and artist talk. This is a great way for artists to share their projects with the community and make creative connections. Resident and visiting artists are expected to present an artist talk. Interns are strongly encouraged.

Contribution of Work

We ask artists to leave one to two pieces of their work at STARworks. One piece will be added to our permanent collection. The other may go in an auction to raise funds that will be put back into STARworks programming.

Testimonial

Resident artists are asked to write a short testimonial about their time at STARworks. Testimonials will be used in fundraising campaigns and to advertise our residency program.

Intern Responsibilities

The standard work week for interns is Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, with one hour for lunch, which adds up to approximately 35 hours per week. Interns may be required to rotate and work some Saturdays during this time. Attendance and volunteering at STARworks events is not compulsory, but greatly encouraged and appreciated. Interns will help with daily operations, classes, workshops, assisting other interns, events, demonstrations and production glassblowing. Interns are expected to assist the studio coordinator with programs, help with maintenance of hot shop, including charging and clean up, present public demonstrations and/or assist with presentations by visiting and resident artists.

Resident Artist Responsibilities

Residents are expected to assist with maintenance of hot shop, clean up, public demonstrations and/or assist in presentations by visiting artists.
