Wood Burning for Beginners

Want to learn how to decorate your own wood keepsakes and decor? The simple techniques explained and practiced in this class can be applied to almost any wood craft. All materials provided, so just bring yourselves and a smile! No experience necessary. Must be 14 or older to participate.

Class takes place in the STARworks Café & Taproom. Soups, sandwiches, snack, coffees, smoothies, beer, wine & more available in the cafe. The cafe entrance is on the far side of the front of the STARworks building. Look for the Open flag.

Registration deadline is the Sunday before each class

Instructor Jeanette Egan

As a pyrography artist for several years, Jeanette incorporates acquired artistic skills into creating one of a kind pieces to tell a story. She utilizes salvaged cedar, processing as much of the wood as possible to create a variety of sizes and multiple uses for the art. Jeanette enjoys teaching people the art of wood burning as a means of relaxation and self-expression. She encourages entrepreneurship, responsible resource management, female empowerment and self-confidence.

Fee: $50 (plus $3.55 online ticketing fee)
