Resident artist Michael Hernandez will work with the STARworks Glass team to perform an exciting glass demonstration for free! All ages are welcome. Those who are 21 and older can purchase locally brewed beer or wine from the STARworks Café & Taproom. Michael Hernandez has been working with glass since the age of 16. He holds a BFA from Emporia State University in Kansas and an MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. Utilizing a range of glass processes and mixed media, his work engages materiality in an exploration of visual dynamics through formal fanaticism. Through a sardonic voice, Michael belies ideas of wonderment and eroticism, entropy and fear. Michael’s work has been shown throughout the United States and abroad. He is currently Assistant Professor and Head of Glass at Palomar College in San Marcos, CA.
