Starworks Metal Studio invites you to experience Hammer & Ales: Welding Basics & Open Studio Night!
Hammer & Ales is a unique opportunity for beginners of all levels to get a feel for metal working with the expert instruction of experienced artists who are happy to guide you through the processes. Participants will gain skills in cutting and welding, followed by time to practice and troubleshoot techniques. Scrap metal for practice is provided; attendees are encouraged to bring their own steel objects or projects. There will also be a brief Blacksmithing/Forging demo.
This is a hands on experience so be ready to sweat as the metal heats up, then cool off after class with a cold refreshment from the Starworks Café!
Welding Basics - 5pm-8pm, 6 spots available.
3-hours; lesson in welding, plus practice and Q&A time.
$50.00 per class.
Basic materials covered; or bring your own projects!
Ages 16 or older.
Closed toed footwear is required.
No alcohol will be allowed in the active work spaces.
Interested in working on more complex or larger scale projects? Speak with your instructor about registering for upcoming open studio sessions.
Want to see what Starworks Metal Studio has to offer? Head down to the Metal Studio Tuesday evening to watch as things heat up! The Metal Studio will be open to Starworks Café & Taproom guests for observing the live, heavy metal action and forge demo. Welding screens and guest seating will be available for safe viewing. The Starworks Metal Studio staff will be available to answer or troubleshoot any metal work questions guests may have. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class date. Cancellations made after that date will not be refunded.
REGISTRATION
Each Class is $50.
Class size is limited. Advance registration is recommended; payment due at the time of registration.
No registration required to observe the Open Studio.
