Starworks Metal Studio and the Café & Taproom invite you to experience Hammer & Ales, a combined evening of Open Studio (5pm - 8pm) and Live Music (7pm-9pm).
Hammer & Ales is a unique opportunity for beginners of all levels to get a feel for metal working with the expert instruction of experienced artists. Be ready to sweat as the hammers get rolling, then cool off after class with a cold refreshment from the Starworks Café.
Start the night off right with hands-on experience in the metal studio; your choice of blacksmithing or welding basics. Learn as you make with one of our metal design projects or work on skill-building and troubleshooting. Participants and guests are welcome to hang out after class to talk shop during entertainment from Jeff Wall the Bigdumbhick LIVE in the Café 7-9pm. Large selection of beer, wine, smoothies, coffee and snacks available for purchase.
Blacksmithing/Forging Basics - 5pm-8pm (2 spots per hour).
Choose your time 5pm, 6pm, or 7pm.
1-hour; learn how to hammer out a taper and scroll an iron hook.
Welding Basics - 5pm-8pm, 4 spots available.
3-hours; lesson in welding, plus practice and Q&A time.
$35.00 per class.
Basic materials covered; more project kits available for additional purchase.
Ages 16 or older.
Closed toed footwear is required.
No alcohol will be allowed in the active work spaces.

Want to see what Starworks Metal Studio has to offer? Head down to the Metal Studio Thursday evening to watch as things heat up! The Metal Studio will be open to Starworks Café & Taproom guests for observing some of the live, heavy metal action. Welding screens and guest seating will be available for safe viewing. The Starworks Metal Studio staff will be available to answer or troubleshoot any metal work questions guests may have. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellations must be made at least 7 days prior to class date. Cancellations made after that date will not be refunded.
REGISTRATION
Each Class is $35.
Class size is limited. Advance registration is recommended; payment due at the time of registration.
No registration required to observe the Open Studio.
Choose your September 22 class from one of the calendars below - Hammer & Ales: Forging/Blacksmithing Basics or Welding Basics. Select the time slot you would like for Forging/Blacksmithing Basics (5pm, 6pm or 7pm).
