Scarlet Tantrum, a 19 year old woman from the quaint little town in North Carolina known as Carthage. With the dream of sharing her original music with the world, In 2022, Scarlet started performing at Moore County restaurants, lounges, markets, and more. Pleasing crowds wherever she goes, venues frequently invite her back for successive performances. You can catch the young talent hosting the most lively open mic in all of downtown Southern Pines at Swank Coffee Shoppe and Handmade Market.
Music has been instrumental in Scarlet's life for as long as she can remember. She's always had a huge love for music and singing since she was little. Her first ever live performance was when she was just 8 years old! During middle school, aspiring to play an instrument while singing, she bought her first ever instrument, a ukulele. The first song on ukulele she taught herself was "Riptide" by Vance Joy. She loved being able to accompany herself with an instrument. Later on, when she turned Fourteen, she received her very first acoustic six-string guitar.
Scarlet loves to write songs. She started writing to help express herself. Her first song called "Miles away" was written in Middle School when her best friend was moving across the country. To this day she still continues to write from the heart no matter what emotions she may be feeling. Her very first single that is out on all platforms, "don't worry darling (feat. Isaac Henry)" published January 20th 2023 is a dreamy love song that represents how strong love can be when you're in love. The couple goes back and forth within the song as if they were in a conversation. The couple love each other so much that they are so scared to lose each other in any sort of way. The chorus in the song is them reassuring one another that they will be there by each other’s side no matter what the circumstances may be because their love is so powerful.
Lyrics full of meaning, sung in a soulful chest-voice, backed by a head-bopping, alternative sound. If you find yourself at a loss for new music, give a tune or two a shot—there’s no harm in trying. And, as Scarlet hopes, you may connect with her music just as she connects with her favorite songs.
