Artist Talks

Join us at Starworks on Thursday, June 20 at 5:30pm for Artist Talks from Starworks Glass Resident Lewis Denver and Starworks Ceramics Intern Andrew Tran. Each artist will present slides and discuss some of their processes and influences involved in making their work. Stick around after the talks to meet the artists and ask questions.

Artist Talks are free and open to the public of all ages.

Artist Talks will be followed by Open Mic Night in the Starworks Cafe, starting at 7pm.

Enjoy refreshments from the Starworks Cafe & Taproom before, during and after the event. The Cafe is open until 9pm and has a large selection of hot and cold beverages, locally crafted wines, beer, pastries, locally prepared sandwiches, desserts and other snacks.

 

Lewis Denver

Lewis Denver is a full-time ceramic artist from Birmingham Alabama. In 2021 he graduated from Berry College in Rome, Georgia with a business degree in Creative Technologies and a minor in Asian Religion. He loves throwing at the wheel and trying new things. In his spare time, he enjoys making music, photography, traveling to meet artists, spending time with family and friends, and going camping.


Andrew Tran

Andrew Tran was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana where he was first introduced to clay in high school. In 2018, he spent half a year with an exchange program at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing, China, which led him to an independent study in Jingdezhen. In 2019, he received his BFA from the School of Art and Design at the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University. After graduation, Andrew continued his ceramics in workshops at Purdue University Fort Wayne. Andrew is now currently pursuing a Post-Baccalaureate program at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
