Resident Artist Fred Kahl will join the talented artists at Starworks Glass will put on a fiery demonstration Thursday, May 8 at 5:30pm. Hot Glass Cold Beer is a monthly glass demonstration that runs September – May with special guest artists, live music, rotating food trucks, and beer & wine. This is a family friendly event for all ages.

Frederick Gladding Kahl is an artist, designer, magician, sword swallower, yogi and inventor/innovator working at the intersection of magic, meditation and shamanism, leveraging everything from plant medicine to digital fabrication technology in creating meditative works exploring consciousness, the quantum field and spiritual non-duality, the oneness of being.

Fred is a former TED Resident and artist in residence at the Corning Museum of Glass, Tacoma Museum of Glass, and Penland School of Craft. He is a graduate of New York University’s Interactive Telecommunications Program and former Executive Creative Director at New York interactive design studio, Funny Garbage. He currently teaches at the School of Visual Arts MFA Design Program, and has taught at Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School and New York University's Interactive Telecommunications Program.

Event admission is by ticketed reservation only. You can register by selecting May 8 from the calendar at the bottom of the page or by calling 910-428-9001. Cost of admission $5. Beer and wine can be purchased separately from the studio bar or in the Starworks Cafe. Large selection of work is available for purchase through School House Gallery.

Cancellations must be made before noon the day of the event. 100% of the proceeds benefit Starworks educational programming.
