Soda Fired Squared Plates by David Roswell
David Roswell is a potter living and making work in Durham, NC. He makes soda-fired functional ceramics. David’s journey in clay started at a cooperative pottery studio in Oberlin, Ohio. After graduating from college, a research job fortuitously brought him to the Piedmont—the perfect place to delve into ceramics. Soon, his passion for clay took over, and he began an apprenticeship with Rusty Sieck, of Chicken Bridge Pottery. He now makes pots full time in his basement studio in Durham, and fires in a kiln he renovated out at Chicken Bridge in Pittsboro, NC. David was a Clay Resident at Starworks in 2019.
